Upon Your Arrival

Plan to arrive at least ten minutes before the scheduled start of your class.

Your instructor will greet you in the classroom, help you choose a place to sit, and will place a name tent on or near your computer. (Please make sure your name is spelled correctly and let your instructor know if it is not.) You will also receive a learning guide for use during and after the class.

Please turn off your pager or cell phone or set it to "vibrate" if possible. If you must make or receive a cellular phone call, please step out into the lobby to avoid disturbing the class and return as soon as you can.

Getting Started

We do our best to start each class on time. You should be registered and in your seat at the designated starting time. Your instructor will acquaint you with our facilities and procedures (phones, breaks, restrooms, etc.) at the beginning of the class. During the training session, your instructor will be conducting demonstrations and going through each exercise with you from his or her computer. The instructor's screen is projected at the front of the room for you to see.

Your instructor will review the class agenda and topics and make sure you have the appropriate program up and running. Using the learning guide, your instructor will introduce and explain new concepts and will then guide you through a series of hands-on activities. Avoid the temptation to "work ahead" unless you are asked to do so. In most instances, everyone should be performing the same activity steps at the same time. You may miss important points if you try to get ahead of the others in your class. When appropriate, your instructor may suggest that you complete an optional activity at your own pace. When you are finished with an activity, please relax and wait for your instructor to take you to the next topic.

Feel free to ask questions during the class and don't hesitate to ask for clarification or help if you aren't sure about any activity. We are here to help you get the most out of every minute of class time and we welcome your questions and are eager to assist you during the class.

Breaks and Lunch

You can expect to take a ten- or fifteen-minute stretch break about 90 minutes into the class. During a full-day class, there will be a morning stretch break, a one-hour break for lunch, and an afternoon stretch break.

There is a full-service deli on campus. During nice weather, you may wish to eat your lunch at one of the outdoor tables. If you wish to eat at another nearby restaurant, ask for directions at the registration desk.

Please return from your breaks promptly so the class can resume on time!

If your class is held on two or more separate days, take your learning guide with you at the end of the session and remember to bring it back on the next day of training. Leave your name tent on your computer when you leave; we will use it to reserve your place when you return.

Evaluations and Certificates

At the end of the class, you will be asked to complete a short class evaluation. We rely on your comments and suggestions to improve our classes and to maintain the highest possible level of customer satisfaction. Your instructor will give you a signed certificate of completion. As you leave the classroom, please turn in your evaluation form and make sure you have your certificate, learning guide, and any other items you were given or that you brought into the classroom with you (clothing, pen, glasses, etc.).

Relax and enjoy your day!
